Who are we?
The Michigan Medical Marijuana Association is a 501 (c)(3) Not For Profit, Community Service Agency. Our mission is to empower the Michigan Medical Marijuana community through education, advocacy and open communication.
The MMMA was organized by Greg Francisco, Melody Karr & Bob Heflin; long time known, proven and well respected activists in the Michigan cannabis community.
In truth though, the Michigan Medical Marijuana Association does not belong to the three of us. It belongs to the community.
We are simply the organizers; stewards operating the MMMA in trust for the greater community.

Greg Francisco, M.A., Executive Director
Greg was the spark plug that got the Michigan Medical Marijuana Association going. He is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Law Enforcement Academy and has earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Education and Agriculture from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Community Agency Counseling from Western Michigan. He has worked as a caseworker in Employment & Transitional Housing programs and as an Elementary School Counselor. Most recently he and his wife own/operate a wool mill. He is anxious to help shape a workable medical marijuana program in Michigan and helping to support its growth.

Melody Karr, Director
Melody work in human services has included teaching autistic children, managing and opening new residential programs for developmentally disabled adults, and doing a short stint in elder care. She pitched in on the medical marijuana initiatives in Detroit and Ann Arbor, and played a key role in the campaign for Traverse City's compassionate use law. Melody collected approximately 7500 signatures all over the state to put the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act on the ballot, connecting with thousands of patients, family members, and health care professionals in the process.
She has been respectfully and successfully asserting her constitutional rights in the context of both political actions and her daily life since 1999.

Bob Heflin, M.A., Director
Bob holds a Master of Arts in Communication and has worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor. His cautious approach and solid insights have already spared the Michigan Medical Marijuana Association and our community a certain amount of grief and mis-steps.
